About VSO

We bring people from different backgrounds, expertise and experiences together to fight poverty. Last year 7,475 volunteers worked alongside partners, communities and institutions to support 1.5 million people across education, health and livelihoods initiatives.

In 2017/18:

  • We supported over 900,000 people to access better healthcare.
  • Our work improving access and quality of education reached over 325,000 people.
  • We helped improve access to food and income for 115,000 people.

We make a difference in 23 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, focusing on improving the health, education and livelihoods of the most marginalised in society.
